    The While Horse Tavern, Routes 5 & 20/SE corner of Route 15, hamlet of E. Avon/town of Avon, Livingston Co., a magnificent public landmark for over 100 years. This two-story, Greek Revival style building was destroyed by fire in [11/1/1955] early/mid 20th century. Only the 'white horse' statue on the front lawn has survived. Cynthia Howk email 6/30/2020.

    Holly Watson, Deputy Livingston County Historian, stated in a 11/24/2020 email, "The White Horse Tavern in Avon was brick, not cobblestone. Is it listed for a foundation?"
